We’re Kyley McGeeney, Kristen Soltis Anderson and Margie Omero, all survey methodologists with the non-partisan, scientific organization, the American Association for Public Opinion Research.
The conclusion of Super Tuesday means we’re more than a third of the way through the 2020 Democratic presidential primaries, and we want to hear your questions about any changes in polling we’ve noticed for this election season compared to 2016. Speaking of which, check out AAPOR’s 2016 election evaluation which found that the national polls were accurate by historical standards, despite frequent mistaken claims to the contrary. AAPOR found in that report that state-level polling wasn’t as accurate (especially in key battleground states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin), but it was reasonably accurate for the 2016 primaries. AAPOR recently launched a task force to examine polling performance for the 2020 Presidential Election.
I’m Kyley, and I’m the VP of Survey Methods at PSB. I have more than a decade of experience as a methodologist with Pew Research Center and Gallup. I was also part of the AAPOR sub-committee that evaluated polling for the 2016 Presidential Election. Ask me anything about pre-election polling, how to compare web and telephone surveys and new survey technologies.
I’m Kristen, and I’m a D.C.-based Republican pollster, speaker, and co-founder of the opinion research and analytics firm, Echelon Insights. I contribute to Fox News and The Washington Examiner, host the weekly polling show “What Are The Odds” on Fox Nation and have also appeared on Morning Joe and Real Time with Bill Maher.
I’m Margie, and I’m a Democratic pollster and principal at GBAO. Politico named me one of the “50 Politicos to Watch” in 2013. I’ve studied the country’s most challenging public opinion questions, such as race, abortion rights, immigration, guns, the Kavanaugh hearings and the Special Counsel investigation. My work has appeared on ABC’s “This Week,” NPR’s “Morning Edition,” “MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Fox News Channel’s “Fox ＆ Friends,” and in the New York Times, Washington Post and USA Today.
